Guru Poornima Mini Retreat on Sat. Jul 13th
The Sathya Sai Center of Atlanta invites one and all to come and enjoy, explore and experience, a day filled with
profound wisdom, divine memories, melodious music and a celebration of all faiths. A wonderful chance for us
all to hear truly gifted speaker and come together with love to celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved
Bhagawan.
What is the significance of Guru Poornima? Guru is one who illumines the path to divinity. Poornima stands for the cool full moonlight. Full moon stands for a mind with total illumination and purity. Even if there is a
trace of blemish in the mind, it will lead to darkness. It cannot give you total bliss.
Embodiments of Love! Let your mind be filled with the radiance of divine love. Acquiring mere textual
knowledge is of no avail. What you have studied is only a fraction of the total knowledge. Yet you feel proud
about it. Your worldly education is insignificant compared to divine wisdom. You cannot attain God with
your education, power and wealth. He is accessible by Love and Love alone. You can experience Him only
when you develop Love. Devotion means to Love God wholeheartedly. Sathya Sai Speaks V35:Ch13, Divine

Guru Poornima Mini Retreat
Introduction of Ravi Mariwalla:
Ravi Mariwalla, hails from Mumbai. He was blessed to be part of Bal Vikas and Pre SevaDal and spoke in Baba’s
presence in 1979 in Mumbai and again at Parthi in the same year. From then on, he had a strong desire to study at
Baba’s college. Bhagawan gave him this opportunity in 1982 and he studied there for nine years. At Swami’s college, he was part of the Speakers group, the Brass Band and participated actively in various Service activities. Through these nine years he had many opportunities to interact with Bhagawan. He also accompanied Swami to Kodaikanal and Chennai. He was also the blessed recipient of three Gold Medals for distinction in MSc, MBA and the All Rounder’s Gold Medal- from Bhagawan’ s own Hands!
The highlight of his time with Swami came, when after completing the MBA program, Bhagawan asked him to work as one of the first employees of the Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialty Hospital, at Prasanthi Nilayam. Ravi served at the Hospital for 14 years in the Cardiac Surgery departments, playing multiple roles including serving as a full time Clinical Perfusionist.
Ravi considers it a blessing to share with the community, the memories, learnings and insights he has gained.
He lives in Cary, North Carolina with his wife Jagruti and two boys, Krishna and Siddharth. His parents and sister
who teach in the Primary School, continue to live at Prasanthi Nilayam.
Let us offer our Unity as Guru Dakshina (Offering to the Lord) for this Guru Poornima.
Let’s celebrate His Glory with Unity and Love.
Jai Sairam !
